請教過去完成式

我想請問一個我在書上看到的句子The vacation slipped by before I had done my homework.「我功課都還沒做

假期就一溜煙過去了。

」問題一:過去完成式像I had done my homework befroe Mary came.用had pp表示此一動作出現再過去的另一件事之前我問的句子中 had pp反而出現在before的後面那到底 I had done my homework 和 the vacation slipped by 順序是誰在前誰在後阿?我不清楚這是不是假設法的句子
